Lately I have focused on funky, unique cocktails that are new and a bit more advanced. It has been a lot of fun experimenting with new flavor combinations, infusions, and syrups but sometimes its just as nice to embrace the classics
The Vieux Carré (voh-car-eh) is a New Orleans classic that has a special place in my heart. It was one of the first drinks I learned when I started branching out in to the cocktail world.
This is the signature cocktail of the Carousel Bar at the Hotel Monteleone in New Orleans. Created in 1938, the name comes from the French name for the Old Quarter. Alongside the Sazerac, this drink is synonymous with New Orleans cocktail culture and after trying it once you will want to try it again and again.
